You Don’t Say
April 30, 2006
Today in Washington President George W. Bush offered up another nugget of wisdom and truth as he warned the American people that their is more tough fighting to come and “more days of sacrifice and struggle” in Iraq. As you might know April was another “deadliest month” since the initial invasion although this will not be the last month with May then June then July then August, etc. around the corner.
I am not sure which is sadder; his statement or the fact that he made it (And in some way that he had to make it).

Baseball and the Chicago Cubs will always be my first love but God Bless the NFL and the 2006 draft kicking off the season 4 months away from the first kickoff. How the NFL turned their draft into an enormous event in the middle of the calendar year is a great story and I can say that this gets me about as excited as I could be (Especially for the fantasy season).
One actual draft note is that the Houston Texans are going to be licking their wounds for years to come in regards to passing up Reggie Bush as he is going to be the next Dorsett.

So you want me to believe that Mr. Richards fell from a Palm Tree in Fiji (Story)? I believe that I then have to believe that he crawled up a palm tree as well? Was his dope up there? Did his dealer move to more remote location? I am not sure which part I have to believe first in order to keep this thing going but I am just going to assume that it was a good old fashioned OD. Get better soon Keith so you can shoot up again.

Solutions Galore
April 28, 2006
It looks like this week’s press agenda is to go to gas stations across the USA and tackle this oil issue head-on. I think Rove might need to step back into the picture regarding policy direction (If you believe he is truly out) as this media strategy might not work too well in persuading the 68% of voters that believe the country is heading in the wrong direction to change their opinion. On the other hand I am sure this is going to lead to a ground breaking resolution/solution in time for the November elections…..Or maybe not.

UPDATE
As per my recent entry regarding upcoming albums please take special note that The Twilight Singers decided to release Powder Burns on ITunes in advance of the official 5/16/06 release. I have just downloaded (I will buy the CD once that comes out as well) it and it is as good as I expected and Ms. Ani DiFranco’s backing vocals are a nice touch as well. More to come after a few more hours of listening but jump on this one now.
Say What

The following is taken off the Answers In Genesis website and is an FAQ regarding the 50,000 square foot Creation Museum which is set to open in Kentucky in 2007.
10 most-asked questions about the future Creation Museum–
- Why is this museum needed?–Our increasingly anti-Christian country must return to a belief in the authority of the Bible and be presented with the life-changing gospel message. Evolutionary indoctrination has undermined the Christian foundations in America.
- What is so different about this museum?–Almost all natural-history museums proclaim an evolutionary, humanistic worldview. For example, they will typically place dinosaurs on an evolutionary timeline millions of years before man. AiGÂ’s museum will proclaim the authority and accuracy of the Bible from Genesis to Revelation, and will show that there is a Creator, and that this Creator is Jesus Christ (Colossians 1:15-20), who is our Savior.
- What kind of exhibits will I find in it?–The 50,000-square-foot museum will be filled with life-sized dinosaur models, fossil and mineral collections, waterfalls, live exhibits (poison dart frogs, fish, turtles, bugs and more) and many other first-class exhibits that will proclaim the authority of the Bible from its very first verse.
- When will it open?–The museum is being built only as the funds come in–our goal is to have it debt-free when the doors open–so it is impossible to project an opening date.
- Why did you choose the Cincinnati area?–About 2/3 of America’s population can drive to Cincinnati in one day! In addition to those 170 million Americans, millions of Canadians in the provinces of Ontario and Quebec can also drive here in one day. Most convenient, the museum will be close to I-75, the busiest north/south interstate in America.
- What will the complex cost?–$25 million. This includes $12 million for the building and land and $13 million for interior design and exhibits. The support will come from sacrificial donations from AiG supporters and also through “gifts in kind” (i.e. a gift of materials and/or services in lieu of a cash gift).
- How can people give?–In addition to outright gifts of cash, supporters can consider donations of appreciated securities, appreciated real estate, and also gifts that return income (e.g., charitable gift annuities, trust remainder bequests, etc.).
- Will the museum be “family friendly”?–Children and adults will enjoy interactive exhibits, special workshops for all ages, videos, nature trails, etc.
- Who are the leaders of Answers in Genesis?–AiGÂ’s board of directors consists of Christian leaders who are thoroughly committed to proclaiming biblical truths and reaching the world for the cause of Christ. The individual members bring to the board a wide background of professional and pastoral experiences. Each is a godly man who walks with the Lord in wisdom and maturity. AiGÂ’s president is Ken Ham, well-known speaker, author and radio host. AiG is a trans-denominational ministry, having no affiliation with any particular denomination.
- How can I find out even more about the project?–Regular updates are posted on the Web at CreationMuseum.org.
I have not edited or altered this in any way. For reference the image is entitled “Adam Naming Animals”. Enjoy.
Pin…er…Nail Head

If you can think of something cooler than taking 12 nails to the head and getting this x-ray to hang on your wall let me know as I sure cannot think of anything. I gotta get me some meth.

Just a few quick music related hits (sorry for all the links but I want to be thorough)–
- Tool–10,000 Days is set to release on 5/2. This is their first new album since 2001’s Lateralus and I have high hopes on this one. Their last album and tour was a little too jam-band style for me but the first single, Vicarious (Listen Here) seems to be leaning a bit more toward the style I loved on Aenima. No matter what this band has earned my loyalty and I will be at Best Buy next Tuesday morning.
- Red Hot Chili Peppers–Stadium Arcadium is set to release the following week on 5/9 and is their first album in 4 years. So far I like the new single, Dani California and I like the fact this is a double album as well. However, I love the fact that this is recorded with Sir Rubin and this gives me nothing but hope. Again, this is one of the few bands who I really stick to so I will pick this up the day of as well.
- Twilight Singers–If anyone knows me in the slightest bit they know that Greg Dulli is the beginning and end to all my musical appreciations. I have loved everything he has touched from the Afghan Whigs to his solo work and now more than ever with the Twilight Singers. On 5/16 the new Twilight album, Powder Burns comes out and I am expecting the regular tour-de-force. A full review (Probably the only band I would do this for) will follow this purchase and I am sure I will hype this release again before it arrives. Also keep in mind that they will be at the Metro on 5/19 as well and this is a great place to see them as well.
So May is looking pretty damn good to me album wise but between now and then let me recommend Fireball Ministry and their most recent album, Their Rock Is Not Our Rock as this one is crisp and tight from beginning to end. Easily one of the best albums in the last 2-3 years for me so check it out if like some old school prog rock/metal (and a little Lemmy sounding).

20 years to the day that Geraldo Rivera had his huge post-Superbowl special opening Al Capone’s Secret Vaults. 20 years to the day that he found nothing at all. 20 years to the day that he should have buried his head in the sand and disappeared for good.
Thank your lucky stars though that he was able to resurrect his career and find a new home at….FOX. If you really want a sad, pathetic and fairly humiliating laugh take a look at his Geraldo at Large site as well.
