Hold My Breath

It’s halftime of the Bears vs. Eagles game and the Bears are winning!  And the have scored 21 points!  Please tell me they make a few adjustments and win this game.  Please D.  Please cover someone.

Define Please

While listening to the annoying, smug and yet informative folks on NPR while driving home last night I was tempted to drive myself into oncoming traffic while they were interviewing “independents” about what issues might sway them towards a particular candidate leading up to the first debate.  

First off I want to say to people who call themselves “independents” – YOU ARE LIARS TO YOURSELF OR OTHERS.  You know which way you are going to go and just want to show off your “fair and balanced” approached.  Give me a fucking break.   You are waiting for the last tidbit of information to come out that is going to push you to one side…..no frickin way. You either like the way the country is or do not.  You either have faith (or hope) in one party or the other. To you people out there you value impartiality out there get over yourselves and learn to pick a lane and stick with it.  

However, that was not even my main issue!  My big problem was that 3 of the 5 “independents” said that the number one issue is FAMILY VALUES.  Not the war, not the economy, not global warning, not our standing in the world, not oil related issues, not health care, not education but FAMILY VALUES.  These “independents” are called Republicans for the record.  All 3 (I know small sample size but tell me you do not hear this stupid fucking term every day and 65 times an hour on FOX News) could not define family values exactly but said that they recognize them when they see them.  What are family values and why do Democrats not have these….

I look at myself and try to find out where I lack FAMILY VALUES - 

1. Married to a women – Check
2. 2 Children – Check
3. Faithful to my wife – Check
4. Not divorced – Check
5. Attend church – Check
6. Believe in equality and freedom for all people – Check
7. Believe people who subscribe to different sexual, ethnic and religion groups then my own are granted the same freedoms and liberties that I enjoy – Check
8. Believe it is my responsibility to ask my government questions – Check
9. Dedicated family man – Check (For reference this means I accept and ENJOY the responsibilities and duties that go along with being a father, husband, son and brother)
10. Active member in society – Check
11. Believe in and obey the law – Check

So is it 6-8 that get me in trouble? Can someone tell me what family values are?  Can someone explain to me why they are the divine right of Republicans only.  

And if this offends you I do apologize as that is not my intent but hey I know my lane and have no problem stating it clearly and fairly concisely.  All I am asking is the same.  Tell me what family values are exactly and what code does this follow and where did you get it from cause maybe I need to pick up some values.

I know I have dropped the ball on writing and posting about the new house and now that closing is less than 21 days away this seems a little Monday-Morning-Quaterback-Ish but what the hell.  Here are some of the photos from July and August to give you an idea as to how this was flowing and looking.  Needless to say the final house if beyond my expectations and I will post those up at the end of this week.  Enjoy as I sure have.

Back….Again…..Maybe

I have no idea how I fall off this wagon so easily. Maybe it is thing 1 and thing 2. Maybe it is the fact that i am building a house. I am not sure but somehow I have as a good of chance staying on the wagon as Dennis Franz in an episode of NYPD Blue.

That being said I will start trying to get back to my daily rants and not-so-positive messages although my tendency is to turn this into a blog about living with 2 daughters + 1 wife + 1 mother and a complete lack of testosterone in my home. Any thoughts on that as a future concept for his hell hole? Let me know as god knows I could use a little more focused framework.
