Socialism!
November 25, 2008
I have always agreed with socialism in general and found America’s history vs. socialism and labor to be quite deplorable. Now please do not confuse this with Communism as Communism is a political ideology and has very little to do with socialism except that Mr. Lenin decided to mix these two elements and then let Mr. Stalin take it about 10,000 steps too far.
The most simple and amazing concept that Marx made was that he took the theory of surplus and went step further and described surplus value. The example is that when a worker spends 8 hours a day expressing himself through labor, he can produce large quantities of goods which in turn lead to profits. However, the worker does not see any benefit of his labor; his wage has already been taken into account through constant capital. This inability to use, express, or see the benefit of labor leads to alienation, which causes the worker to stop seeing himself as a human being and he begins to see himself as merely an object. To create an alternative, Marx created a theoretical system in which workers were paid based on the quantity of their labor, as well as the quality of their labor. Marx also took into account social necessity and the amount of schooling a person had received when determining wages.
The part I also find interesting is that at some point capitalism has to run its course based on simple supply and demand and the overall progress of under-developed nations. For 200+ years the US, England, France, Germany, Japan and other developed nations have been able to do the following program -
- Investors buy 1 million dollars of raw goods.
- Investors than use labor to trasnform the raw goods into 2 million worth of final product.
- This result in a gross gain of 1 million
- Labor then receives at most 20% of the gross which is $200,000
- Investors/Management then use and manipulate the remaining balance with either additional investments or lateral movement of the funds into other sources (resellers, transportation, etc.)
The problem is then you have a labor force that has less than $200,000 to purchase the 2 million in goods which is not possible. So the answer is simple – export. It used to be exporting to other states and now it is other countries. This works decently for Investors provided that the importer is in need or demand of the byproduct and that they cannot produce said product on their own. Now what happens once the importers begin to produce their own goods and the export market is decreased as these “under developed” nations develop? Where are the goods sold?
Now what if Labor made the 80% and the Investors made 20%? What if Labor now had the means to purchase the product they made and lessen the need for exporting?
Just wondering today.
Why I Hate Florida Pt. 383
November 25, 2008
I hate this fucking state. I just don’t get it. I do not understand the appeal at all. Although Cali is not my thing either I get it in general. This state smells like ass as well.
Last night I went to dinner at 10pm…..except everything was closed so I instead enjoyed a Diet Coke and bag of popcorn out of the hotel vending machine. 10pm and everything was fucking closed. This includes the two nearby gas stations as I was getting pretty damn desperate as you can tell.
Fuck Florida.
Incumbent
November 25, 2008
When did I become so inflexible regarding products especially of the personal care variety? When did “other” soaps start to represent an evil so strong that I promoted them to axis while kicking out Italy due to poor sportsmanship? Are Germany and Japan so devoted to the destruction of Irish Spring at the behest of Dove?
The short answer is 8 years ago and a little before I became a husband. Now athough my wife and I lived a good 2+ years together I do not recall “setting” the personal care product line up until after we were married but the seeds of craziness must have been planted a little before that. I am not sure what triggered me to then set my product loyalty list but I might have thought that my wife was intent on compromising it at that time.
The why is a mystery of metaphysics as it is in the clouds and irrelevant to what is now a fact and on the ground – I have a set product list that is incumbent until an item by item revolution occurs.
For reference shampoo, soap, deodorant, shaving cream, razor and toothpaste make up the incumbents. These products are set in stone and have been for 8 years. 8 f’n years! However, as you can see their is some internal turmoil at some of the slots including, cleanser, lotion and especially toothbrush as I currently buy 2 new toothbrushes per month in search for the right one. These openings are like being the Mayor of Detroit- great promise but all eventually fail me.
If anyone out there has any advice or recommendations on the above 3 items please let me know – especially the toothbrush one.
However, please note the one absent item – cologne. As my wife and friends can attest to I have had the same position on cologne for almost 7 years. It is a statement I will live by and leave you with - A man should smell like soap. Any soap, but never, ever spray something on yourself. Sorry but I live by those words.
Goalsisit
November 11, 2008
Is it me or does everyone wake up every few days thinking about a couple new goals for themselves? is it mr or does everyone come up with potential plans and milestones to achieve these goals and hence become a better husband, parent, kid, employee (or “er”)? Why is it so hard to fit these goals and plans into actual life? How can life continue to move at a break neck pace although I seem to have plenty of time to doubt myself and question everything I do?
Boy, this was cathartic. I think I might make some new plans and goals right now.
