Golden Globes Are Here (And Yes, Kinda Meaningless)

Ok so I am going to get the jump on this years Academy Awards pool and stay out front the whole season.  Leading the way this season is the always pointless and silly Golden Globe Awards.  The only redeeming thing about this show is that again Mr. Ricky Gervais will be hosting (I need him hosting the Oscars!).

A couple reminders –

  1. It is the Golden Globes so it is kinda meaningless.
  2. The Hollywood Foreign Press are the ones who vote for the awards and they are an enigma wrapped inside of a mystery.
  3. The categories are broken up a little more than the Academy Award so keep that in mind.
  4. The show airs Sunday, January 16, 2011 at 7pm CST.

The one thing I will say is that this year will have some tight races but if you did see 2-4 of the major movies you can pretty much make an educated guess in every category as all the nominees seem to be coming from those same movies this year.  Enjoy and prepare.
