Mao’d Out

A 10 day Asian jaunt ended with 2-3 days of travel to a few major destinations in the life of Mao Zedong (1893-1976) including –

  • His birth home and family plantation in Shaoshan, Hunan.
  • Hunan University in Changsha, Hunan.
  • Mao’s retreat in Shaoshan, Hunan.
  • And about 30 other locations with various ties to Mao.

In the process I came away with a shit ton of Mao related merchandise (Love it!) and even met people who grew up in his small village and knew his family.  Incredibly interesting for a guy who is borderline obsessed with The Chairman.  Here are a few photos to go along with the trip.
