2014 SAG Awards

This is the 20th year of the SAG (Screen Actors Guild) Awards and to get an understanding about these awards note the following right off their site (sagawards.org) – “The Screen Actors Guild Awards are unique in the size of its voting body. Two randomly selected panels of 2,200 members each from across the country choose the nominees for television and motion pictures.  All active members of SAG-AFTRA in the United States  — more than 100,000 members — receive voting information to select the outstanding performances of the year”

Peers voting on peers is what it comes down to and the 2014 award winners are…

  • Outstanding Performance By A Cast In A Motion Picture – American Hustle
  • Outstanding Performance By A Male Actor In A Leading Role – Matthew McConaughey
  • Outstanding Performance By A Female Actor In A Leading Role – Cate Blanchett
  • Outstanding Performance By A Male Actor In A Supporting Role – Jared Leto
  • Outstanding Performance By A Female Actor In A Supporting Role – Lupita Nyong’o
